Company History

The Outsource Group was founded in 1977 in Columbia, Missouri, as a healthcare accounts receivable management company. In 2004, after decades of working for other peoples’ companies, Michael A. DiMarco saw potential in this small Missouri startup, and he purchased The Outsource Group.

Michael recognized that hospitals were running on fragmented revenue cycle management systems with a lack of coordination between the front and back end of the revenue cycle. The vision was to streamline the process by servicing each part of the revenue cycle as a comprehensive provider.

In addition, his vision was to expand The Outsource Group’s offerings and locations. In 2006, The Outsource Group began an aggressive organic growth strategy adding new clients across the country. The Company also initiated a strategy of acquiring best-in-class companies to enhance The Outsource Group's healthcare service offerings and expand coverage nationally to better serve clients.

Today, The Outsource Group is a leader in healthcare revenue cycle management. The Company has offices and operations centers from coast to coast, serving, hospitals and hospital-based physician practices. The Outsource Group provides clients with the resources of a large company, along with the individualized services and flexibility of a smaller firm. Plus, through state-of-the-art technology and analytic processes, The Outsource Group assures the highest rate of account resolution.

In 2013, The Outsource Group became a part of Parallon®, a leading provider of healthcare business and operational services, allowing Parallon to provide more flexible, end-to-end revenue cycle services and meet the evolving needs of hospitals, physicians and other non-acute care providers.

Today, The Outsource Group is a leader in healthcare revenue cycle management. The Company has offices and operations centers from coast to coast, serving, hospitals and hospital-based physician practices. The Outsource Group provides clients with the resources of a large company, along with the individualized services and flexibility of a smaller firm. Michael A. DiMarco

Chief Executive Officer

Michael DiMarco began his career in operations management and moved into more strategic roles related to partnerships, acquisitions, new products and international market development. Prior to forming The Outsource Group, he was Division President for Outsourcing Solutions Inc., based in St. Louis, Missouri. Recently, Michael received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2011 Central Midwest Award in the Health Care Services category. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Ramapo College of New Jersey, a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University, and a doctoral degree ABD in management from Webster University.

Mark Rowland

Chief Financial Officer


Mark Rowland has more than 25 years of finance experience, including operational and financial management with key competencies in strategic planning, acquisitions and business integration leadership. Prior to joining The Outsource Group, Mark was the Chief Financial Officer of Spectrum Brands Home & Garden business, a $700 million consumer products company, where he was employed for more than eight years. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of St. Thomas and is a CPA.

Chief Human Resources Officer & Compliance Officer

Lisa has over 28 years of human resources experience that includes previous industry experience. Prior to joining The Outsource Group, Lisa was Vice President of Human Resources for Ventus Capital Services, a receivables management company, and was responsible for building and leading the human resources, payroll and training functions. Lisa launched and managed a successful human resources consulting practice for over 15 years prior to joining Ventus. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri, as well as numerous certifications within the field.

Mike Aufdembrink has more than 23 years of experience helping organizations strategically utilize information technology to drive sustained operational excellence. Prior to joining The Outsource Group, Mike served as Vice President of IT at Sara Lee Corporation and also worked in consulting for 9 years with Accenture. Mike holds a bachelor's degree in science from Missouri University of Science and Technology, as well as master's degrees in business administration and information systems from the University of Missouri.

Don brings more than 21 years of experience providing revenue cycle solutions to the healthcare industry. In his current position, Don oversees all sales responsibilities for the Company. He has held senior sales management positions with large national healthcare revenue cycle solutions providers, a major credit bureau, and a national decisioning/credit scoring company.

Brigitte possesses over 20 years of functional, technical, quality management and compliance experience. She has designed and implemented quality management programs with CMMI, lTlL and Lean Six Sigma process optimization, as well as risk management programs for government and commercial entities, including a multi-year implementation of a regulatory compliance and collaboration initiative for government healthcare. Formerly, Brigitte was Information Systems Director for Arkansas Children’s Hospital/University of Arkansas Medical Sciences. She holds a bachelor’s degree in MIS/quantitative analysis from the University of Arkansas.

Don Wright has been with The Outsource Group for more than 19 years. Don oversees the daily collection operations of five of our Self-pay service centers. Don’s key competencies are in leadership development, automated process workflow, dialer integration, and strategic business and collection strategies. Don holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri.

Alan has more than 25 years of experience as an operations leader in health care, insurance, and the financial-services industries. He is accomplished in receivables management best practices, revenue cycle, and process reengineering. He is formerly Vice President at CCC Information Services Inc., a leading technology and data provider to the insurance industry, and Vice President Operations at Trumbull Services, a claims management and outsource service company. He is a Certified Public Accountant and former auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
